    Maritime Disaster in England!

They just fished the Segway guy out of the drink in England!

The body of James Heselden, 62, was pulled from the River Wharfe in northern England on Sunday, police said.

A Segway-type vehicle was recovered from the river, police said.

If any of you T-Net folks are cruising about on your Segways - make sure you
    wear your PFD's!

So that another near maritime disaster can be averted!

wonder if he was strapped to it in some way --if so it would drag you under like a boat anchor -- if not just letting go should get you away from it -- but if one goes into a swift river not so good.

As a frequent Segway driver I can say that one DOES NOT strap in. There are no seat belts or harnesses.
I have seen the bodily damage they can do. One of our officers had just completed her safety course when she struck out on her own and over corrected on a patch of mud covering the sidewalk. She was knocked out, broke her nose and nasal cavity, chipped a couple teeth and got two black eyes.
It was very traumatic for her and she had to see a shrink after her physical injuries healed.

I don't like them at all.
