7 yesterday and 9 today. We are more concentrating on finding the rest of the ship so lots of time conuming test holes. We did find 3 more pieces of silver with one you can clearly see the tax stamp and two pewter plates and one Mayan figurine. Oh and two pieces of GOLD but very small. Looks like we have good weather tomorrow but going down hill after that.

Looks like nice, early Mexican stuff. That might be an Mexico city tax stamp on the silver round. It does look awefully good for being submerged for so long.

Fantastic finds. Thank you for posting. It allows those of of us involved in the daily grind to live vicariously through you. How great it is to work in such clear water. Almost expect to see you guys riding dolphins and cavorting with beautiful mermaids or visa versa. :icon_pirat:

In the July 2002 issue of National Geographic, there is a article on Spanish shipwreck recoveries around Cuba called Cuba's Gold. A couple of the marks on the gold rounds look similar to the one on the silver round. It's pretty good stuff, especially the coin-like small piece that is also marked with the stamp. It seems I may have also seen a similar mark on a silver ingot, but cannot now exactly recall which source that picture was from.
