Since Spain pillaged that gold and silver from native Americans, does that really give them a claim to gold and silver once they lost it to the ocean bottom?

Is it possible to pillage from the pillager?

I decided to post the Heizer picture again and the piece of wax.





That's a often repeated mantra here. I'm more interested in the fact that the ship is sometimes exposed and that things wash up from it and are scattered along the beach, then eventually picked up or lost from posterity.
