You do indeed need to be careful what you dig. Two years ago, here in St. Johns county, an unexploded ordinance was exposed after a persistent Nor'Easter removed the overburden in the tidal zone. It was at Mickler's Landing. The Navy from Mayport detonated it on-site after it was determined that it was too unstable to attempt to move.
