Has anyone used a Seamag magnetometer. If so, what are the pros and cons. Any past experiance with the seamag i would like to hear them. How does it compare to the cesium 882? thanks

The SeaLink software is a little dodgey sometimes, but you can move right along with the Seaspy. You can avoid some problems with SeaLink if you have a computer that has real serial ports, rather than USB/Serial converters for input of your GPS stream. Overhauser on Seaspy works very well. Have not used the 882.

Also, on the Seaspy, the last cable link from the mag cable butt end to the computer interface transciever is very fragile, and if it is even slightly compromised, you're out of luck. It has a wierd single-pin coax plug that is easily dis-jointed and costs about $100 plus to replace. On the other hand, the mag fish and tow cable are very robust and take a beating.
