Re: Ray a life underwater
This was very cool!
From the description on You Tube...
A rogue with an eye for salvage - and the ladies - Ray: A Life Underwater is an affectionate portrait of one man's deep sea diving career, told through his extraordinary collection of marine artefacts.
Like a modern-day pirate, 75--year-old Ray Ives has been scouring the seabed for treasure his whole life.
The former commercial diver has plundered the deep for over fifty years, bringing to the surface anything that glittered -- even gold.
In a shipping container near the water, Ray tends his museum of cannon, bottles, bells, swords, portholes and diving gear.
He still takes to the water in a 1900s diving suit.

Thanks Mr Nibbs. What a story to share. Quite inspirational to see a man in his seventies still hittin it hard. Ray moves with the economical yet purposeful strokes and strides that only a lifetime of hard work and adventure provides. Great work!

Actually last year we had a young girl who was taking a video journalism course, (Jenna Marks) and made a short video about the group I guys I dive with called "Harbour Scrubbers".
It had to be broken down into 4 parts to fit on youtube.
I love Rays collection of gear and finds and would love to see it up close. I have some of these same bottles in my finds.
Oh and the dry suit is a 7 mill neoprene Atlan suit. I have had many dry suits of different types but for the water temps we deal with it is the only way to go.
