Earliest Known/Never Before Seen 1955 Robert Marx Footage Remastered to DVD

This consists of never before seen remastered 16MM underwater film footage recovered from a foggotten can of film rescued from about to be tossed in the trash from Marx's storage and is the oldest known color footage of Marx known to exist. Only some B/W footage taken by Mel Fisher of Marx in 1949 is older but none of that is available to the public.

This footage has been salvaged and the better surviving parts have been digitized and placed on DVD and has been set to the music "Wine,Women and Song" by Schubert also creating the affect of an underwater ballet as the young Marx moves about the reefs gracefully while locating and recovering artifacts from the famous Matanceros Wreck he discovered off the Yucatan by in 1955 and later, wearing lab coat, cleans them. This is also the only known footage of any of the diving and recoveries made at that site. Besides being entertaining, this DVD makes for an interesting part of the historical record of both that site and that accomplished individual while also allowing one to briefly live vicariously and be there with Marx to see how it really was.

For those aficionados who have read his books, attended his always packed lectures or have been touched by him in other ways, this DVD is a must.

Certainly one of the most treasured items in my book collection is "Diving For Pleasure And Treasure" by Clay Blair, Jr. who accompanied Bob Marx to the Matanceros wreck and published a book about the expedition in 1960. I even managed to snag a few of the salvaged crucifixes from Bob in years past.

Although Clay has passed away, Bob is still hail and hearty and this footage is much of the substance found in the Blair book. I watched it before it went into this production by South Seas... what a hoot!

Great documentation of one of the earliest pioneers in the treasure hunting business and a worthy addition to any collection. One of a kind and VERY, VERY rare.
