Good stuff but no new stuff, Gavin Menzies has for years been harping on about Zheng He.

Its clear from Chinese historians they they were in Australia and NZ earlier than the normally accepted. So it comes as no surprise that this report exists, but where did they get it from. Difficult to prove it seems as there are virtually no salvaged ships from Zheng He's fleet on any of his 7 Voyages at all. We are all awaiting these remnants of 475ft long ships to reappear.

I would love to see the original map and have it dated.

If you read 1421 by Gavin Menzies you will find all kinds of things that put the Chinese even in America before Columbus. But no real proof just details changed to suit the circumstances.

The facts of the way Chinese ships were built were proved with the recovery of the Qhenzhou ship, which was built with watertight compartments. She was to all intents and purposes unsinkable but for a catastrophic damage. (The ship was abandoned and forgotten till someone dug it back up).

The records from Zheng he's voyages were reputedly destroyed on the orders of the Emperor and Zheng He dies in obscurity. That is until recently when he has been re invented and there a large statues of him all of Fijian Province. And in Nanjing where the shipyard for these large ships still exist, they have built a sort of theme park dedicated to him and his 7 voyages. (Incidentally he is supposed to Sinbad Chinese not Arab)

There is a thread which ran previously on the TN with some good details of this.
