Read all the way to the bottom, if signed the U.S. will sign the U.N. Law of the Sea Treaty. Do a little research, you will NOT like this one.

Piece by piece, America being given away

“It’s too late; it’ll just have to be stopped in the Senate,” Tom, the young
male answering the phone in U.S. Rep. John Boehner’s (R-Ohio)Washington
D.C. office, said about HR 3534 (CLEAR Act). This is the globalist bill designed
to give away our land, oceans, adjacent land masses and Great Lakes to an
international body, and makes us pay $900 million per year until 2040.

HR 3534 is a thinly disguised permanent roadblock to American energy which
drives American companies out of the Gulf, delays future drilling, increases
dependency on foreign oil, implements climate change legislation and youth
education programs; but most important, it mandates membership in the Law
of the Sea Treaty without the required two-thirds vote to ratify it in the U.S.
Senate. Read more at LOST below

The House passed the CLEAR Act (HR 3534) 209-193, July 30, 2010. This
bill was originally introduced July 8, 2009, but was resurrected by the
recent Deep Water Horizon oil spill crisis. According to http://www.govtrack.us/, a debate may be
taking place on a companion bill in the Senate, rather than on this particular
bill. This bill was read for the second time Aug. 4, 2010, and placed on the
Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders, Calendar No. 510. No
official Senate Bill number exists as of yet. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-3534

Some have said this bill would be a long shot to be approved in the Senate or
it will take a while to surface. Similar assessments were made about the
health-care bill. Past precedent reflects how a 2,200+-page bill can be
created, printed, members held hostage, and that same bill voted on within hours
to facilitate holiday recess.

This bill assesses a Conservation Fee of $2 per barrel of oil and 20 cents
per million BTUs of natural gas for all leases on Federal onshore and offshore
lands (Section 802). This will jettison America’s energy prices for oil
and gas through the roof!

Truth is, HR 3534 could have been stopped in the House and wasn’t. Why?
Because 21 absent Republicans chose not to show up for this critical vote, while
another REP just voted Present: U.S. Rep. Gary Miller (CA-42). This
legislation was so egregious; more than a handful of Democrats voted “nay” which
makes the Republicans’ absence in the House chamber for the vote even more
questionable. Be reminded that 193 + 17 absent votes would have killed the
bill.

The Consolidated Land, Energy, Aquatic Restoration Act of 2009 (aka:
CLEAR Act, HR 3534) gives away ownership of America’s oceans to the United
Nations, and sectors America into nine geographic areas. This bill
possesses a cap and trade/climate change component as well.

America will be forced to become a member of the UN Law of the Sea Treaty
(aka: LOST), circumventing the normal two-thirds U.S. Senate vote necessary for
ratification of any treaty. This was accomplished surreptitiously via
Section 106 of the bill, which specifies that Executive Orders, rules,
regulations, directives or delegations of authority that precede the effective
date of this act are applicable to the CLEAR Act.

It just so happens two important documents did precede
the CLEAR Act. Documents that contain the deleterious intent and scope of
the bill: Obama’s Stewardship of the Oceans, Our Coasts and the
Great Lakes
Executive Order, July 19, 2010, and the
Interim Report of the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force, July
10, 2009. Look at the time line very closely:

Don't be surprised if you see this rear it's ugly head again soon, possibly under a different name. I think I finally figured out how we can get archaeologists to work with treasure hunters....this would potentially strip BOTH groups of their rights. In fact it was an archaeologist who originally tipped me off to it.

It appears this is no longer a free country with a government by the people. The government is so stupid, they even give up the rights of the people to foreign nations. Rather than lead the world, we're kissing everybody's ass.

Enlighten us to how this is Obama's fault, considering it was the Republicant's who refused to show up for the vote.

Many of them? Maybe. But I'd bet the fine people of Guatemala, Viet Nam, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc would disagree.

Yes this is the treasure hunting forum for shipwrecks, but I see that you have chosen to take a dump here because it is the only real relevant board that might have international ramifications (look that up in your foreign language dictionary before you assume that I am talking about military interventionism... look that up too.) So I'll take the bait and let you ramble on shamelessly while you sharpen your sickle and dust off your hammer. Do tell us about those many fine people and how their human rights, intelligence, and unending contributions to civilization have been shattered and trampled upon by the American 'race'. I can hardly wait. Please, do carry on.

The last Bush Administration openly supported ratification of LOST. So did/ does the Department of Defense. I am not for it either, and am not a liberal by any means, but trying to paint HR 3534/ LOST as some kind of globalist Obama conspiracy just doesn't hold water. LOST has been in the works for a long, long time and many republicans support it, openly or otherwise. Look at the sponser of HR 3534...does HE have an agenda?

You're on message... insidesource was just looking for an audience while they sang the internationale. The thread discussion regards a law and its impact on Americans. American sovereignty is at stake in this venue and many others. Basically, the democrats and the republicans are two horns on the same devil so far as I am concerned, manifested by a class of people rising in this country, especially of late, that has no other interest aside from self-promotion and self-preservation: that would be the government class. These folks, who 'lawfully' control the police, the military, the tax collectors, the regulators, and many other facets of society make up fully a quarter of the working population when you count them from the local level up through the federal level.

The handmaidens of the government class are the bureaucrats, alleged specialists who manufacture the logic used by the government to sustain themselves. There are many philosophical domains from which these bureaucrats draw their ideas, not the least being those dreamed up by historians, archaeologists, psychologists, economists, theoretical physicist, and so forth. The rest of us become the little people, the voting class, who are becoming irrelevant in the eyes of the government class, so long as there are useful idiots (Lenin's definition) in the wild that will sing the praises of the government class.

This shipwreck forum has become a microcosm of the world political stage, since the raising of the Mercedes treasure, if not even the Juno/Galga incident. I'd say that the treasure hunter, as a class, if you will, is not interested in being a useful idiot, but would rather test his luck and make something of himself through design and courage. That is why most people come here, I believe. They want to spend their time with people of similar inclination. The mere fact that there are so many of us here seems to be an agitation of sorts... it is a manifestation of an 'American thing', a pimple on the face our governing class wishes to present to the outside world... an embarrassment, an affront to global ethics.

Make of it what you will, Goold works for Clinton, Clinton Works for Obama and, LOST has yet to pass.
