Alright, since no one has anything good to post I put something out that at least has a wreck in the image.

Nobody won the find the diver contest. The bright orange spot is the bubble plume from the freezing cold diver, if you look below that you can see his shadow in the form of legs. Notice that shadow isn't there on that area of the wreck in the previous image.

Enjoy,
Brad

No, my last post was a blown up version of the second image. The one you posted is Robert in the first picture, I'm not sure if the shadow to his left is from him or something else.

Maybe some of you will find our latest scan interesting, waiting for good weather to see what we have. The image below is approximately 300' across.

Hardy,

The Vespa was one of the fastest blockade runners during the civil war. The captain supposedly out ran 12 Union gunships and ran her aground near the beach to escape. The cargo was all salvaged and I am sure it was everything from war supplies to general cargo.

Very few people have dove the site because of poor visibility and the possible shrimp nets that create deadly hazards. The visibility does get better certain times of the year and especially on an incoming tide.

Robert,
As of yet, no. I dove on it the same day the scan was made but with no vis, strong current and lack of another diver, I aborted the dive until things clear up and the seas calm. We have had hits up to 190g and a lot of smaller targets with the mag, in what looks like a debree field but not yet been successful in identity yet.

Brad,
I believe it is SeaScan, I don't have much knowledge on the side scans yet, this is a new type of image viewing program we're using now.

We do things a little different than by history research.

Will you be bringing your sidescan down to the treasure coast this summer? I have a little project it could be used on. Let me know.

Scott, Brad will be down next week with the rest of us...I would imagine he plans to bring the sonar unit with him...I hope you can get away when the weather is nice...I'll be in touch soon.

Here is an anchor we found in Tampa Bay last weekend. It is 8' by 15' long. Notice the chain below it. We didn't dive it because it was late but we're going back to raise it next week. It is in 25' deep water.
