Hey guys,
With 86,868 members here, I would think that we have a vote on what our legislators do... We are up against about three people sitting in their ivory towers per state being paid by us to make laws against us. Don't you think it's time to stand up for our rights and demand that these arrogant a$$es start working with us instead of against us. What in the world are they thinking? That they can not only locate the ships and sites, but have the funds to actually salvage them? We all know that they can't, yet we're allowing them to usurp our ability to go about this on our own. They can sit up there in their offices next to our legislators and give them good arguments as to their beliefs on a daily basis and there is nothing as far as input from anyone else. What are our reps supposed to believe? We need to at least, write to them and let them know the truth. Things like creating requirements that the average person (citizen) can't afford to meet. Permit fees that are totally unreasonable. For example, why would I want to spend hundreds of dollars to get a search permit for an area along the coast of Florida that has a 1000 to 1 chance of producing anything? Then if I'm fortunate enough to find something, have the state either deny the salvage permit or turn the site into a cultural/historic unattainable site. These are unacceptable terms and are created by our government to keep us from pursuing our happiness. Sound familiar? As I remember it's in our Bill of Rights. Get off your butts sheeple!

thanks john!!! lets see what kind of response you get, my last attempt got about two replies!!!

like i said before, if anyone that has the time to head up this effort would step forward i will do whatever i can to help! if we want to take this to a private forum i have one already set up!!
terry got something going once and we made ourselves heard and stopped a bill dead in its tracks.

we shouldn't have to beg to recover, collect and preserve history !!!!!!!!!!!!!! remember, freedom isn't free or easy, every once in a while you have fight!!!!!!!!! our politicians and elected officials have crossed a line in many areas and need to be reminded of what we want not what they feel is good for us! "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."..........Sir John Dalberg-Acton
so,.......the question again is, will we stand up and fight or be good little sheep?

chuck.

Most users ever online was 15,868, Mar 15, 2013 at 11:59 PM.

My guess there were well over actual 400 members on that day and others.
My guess at least 10% were members

and a few more signed up

The first thing you need to do is get a bill introduced into the state legislature. Contact your representative. Once we have a specific piece of legislation to reference, we can all contact our representatives to support it.

I'll be out of town for a while. If seeker41 and bikerlawyer can come up with some names and addresses in the meantime it could be helpful.
