Wonder if it involves 8 Escudos? Like 100s of them, like maybe 1715 of them.
The Capitana is getting close. Keep going guys.
Congrats,

Lots of gold and royal coins... Same area that Dave Luke made his major "recoveries" years ago on "Corrigans"...

and it is not all in the boat yet, I understand.
This is gonna be interesting.
How many gold coins were in a 1715 era chest, anyway?
( Hint - it's a lot)

I believe it depends upon the denominations of the coins but typically two burlap sacks... Each containing 1500 8's... So 3000 in a chest...

I detect the history: I've visited archives up & down the entire US East Coast, Bahamas, Jamaica, Kew, The Hague, etc. Have yet to go to Seville or S.American archives.

Is this what Brent was talking about at the banquet? Very cool!

2015 is a banner year for everyone with all the finds, the press, the story getting out with the commemoration. Congrats to all!

Many have already been found, Mostly lying on the surface after the last major coast altering hurricanes of the 1920's and thirties.
Huge deposits of gold coinage and Silver bars have been found intact north of Satellite Beach and in the vicinity of Melbourne Beach.
The vast majority have never and won't ever be reported.

Watch the news!!!
The 300 anniversary yielded a Martinez Mound of mind boggling treasure to the hard working Capitana crew!! :headbang::notworthy:

My TIVO has been recording the news channels since the announcement post to stay tuned. Maybe I need to upgrade it to a 5 terabyte unit?
Do we have to wait another 300 years to find out what the recovery was :dontknow: jus saying.
I saw some photo's but...waiting in bated breathe

The previous big find was June 17 but wasn't announced until July 27, so don't hold that bated breath!

I believe I would wait until I was sure I had every last escudo recovered before inviting the United States to come attempt to surreptitiously plunder my spot. That may take a while.

Man If I EVER found anything close to the stuff that has been in the news lately, I can assure you all one thing.

I WOULD,,very swiftly,,vanish from the face of this known planet.
One way or another,,but I would be GONE !!
