what a load of crap. This isn't someone asking for money for themselves, WE ARE TRYING TO HELP A FELLOW MEMBER!

BVI, PM that link again. After this I'm walking away from TNET for a while.
Jason, I couldn't agree more. BVI wasn't asking for money for himself. It was to help out a member of treasure net that helped out others in need.

When Dell Winters was laid up and in need a go fund me account was set up for him by aquanut.
Nothing was said about that, nor should it have been in my opinion. I always thought one of the reasons a lot of us posted on treasure net was to help others.
Mostly about questions they had about shipwrecks or other treasure hunting activities.

I guess helping others in need is not acceptable here.
I know sads669. He has willingly helped others in need and he wouldn't ask for help himself. Even when he needed it. All I can say is this. I am disappointed in treasure net and I hope that none of them are in a Natural Disaster or a medical problem and need help.

I just see no reason To have a Big Debate & rehash over something that is written in the rules.

There is no debating of our rules in open forum, if members have issues with rules it is to be handled via pm with mods or admins, not in open forum per our rules... Remember mods do not make the rules.....

What members discuss in PM is their business as long as no one complains.

back to the issue at hand --anyone heard from sadds ?

my union (siu) lost a vessel the EL FARO running from Jacksonville , fl to san juan pr -- onboard were 28 Americans (many of the unlicensed crew members were from my local SIU union hall in Jacksonville and had I not retired due to health issues --I couold have easily been on it --as I ran that route often ) and a 5 man Polish "work crew" that did repairs on the vessel ..it does not appear that there are any survivors at this time but there is still 1 life boat and 4 inflatible life rafts that is unaccounted for ...so one can hope and pray for a miracle .

I detect the history: I've visited archives up & down the entire US East Coast, Bahamas, Jamaica, Kew, The Hague, etc. Have yet to go to Seville or S.American archives.

Last I heard from Kevin was Wednesday. Hope all's well. Been worrying about him since hearing about El Faro. But he's pretty tough. Probably threw some scuba gear on to weather the storm in one of those legendary blue holes.

If I'm not mistaken last I heard they Found One Body so Far :(

Am I correct in assuming it disappeared in the Triangle ?
Hopefully they are in the other rafts yet

Thanks to all those who have PM'd me about how to help Kevin and his community.
You're still able to help if you contact me

For those who have not seen the KEVIN / SADDS BAHAMAS thread, he is ok but he and his fellow long islanders are in a devastated area

Ha! Tried that a dozen times since day one - against the rules to ask for money.

Lets just say, something similar is in place but only accessible via a PM to me

No... the SITE... "gofundme.com"

Wish I could break away... I would trek across the state and drop in for a shot over to help in recovery and clean up.
But unfortunately my roof has other plans for me.
Like leaking.
