Boy...
It seems that whenever there is a "shipwreck pie"...
Odyssey has their fingers in it these days.

Seems the famed court loss of 500 mill has made them billions.

seems to me because they lost to spain.
other countries are hoping to screw them over also. :(
is it now guilty until proven innocent ?

Perhaps Odyssey should purchase a Battleship & fit it for Treasure Hunting !

better still ... a Nuclear Sub :laughing7:

I think Odyssey will be just fine.

They are now ... "The Salvage Kings"... due to all the publicities.

In fact they should do a show on Nat Geo called this IMO.

"Salvage Kings".

PS> Please send me a royalty check :P

Yet another theft of artefacts by State funded desk bound archaeologist.

They used to do their own projects, until they worked out its easier to steal from the private sector.

why farm yourself --doing the work and paying the cost ---when you can just steal another farmers harvested crop at season. s end?

The gruberments are modeling themselves after the private sector. Outsourcing all the hard work researching documenting & recovery to better help their bottom line. :tongue3: Funny how the only intelligent actions Gruberments make are used to line their own pockets. Imagine what they could accomplish if they were honest! :laughing7:

Odyssey is still learning. So hopefully their lawyers will plug all the legal loopholes for them & future projects.

Once again we see the modern pirates at work. Why go to all the expense and trouble of find treasure yourself when you can just wait for it to be brought to you ?

It's like all these cases they never send a gun boat on day one to prevent the alleged destruction of UCH, they always wait until until the salvor has recovered everything before steeling it.

If they were generally interested in UCH they would be out protecting and preventing.

Legalised theft by states is nothing unusual.

This sort of behavior is not hard to imagine on the part of Cyprus...after all, they are another bankrupt Eurozone welfare state that just a couple of years ago tried to steal their own citizens' bank accounts...Could the U.S. Do Like Cyprus and Seize Bank Deposits? - DailyFinance

I can only imagine the qualifications of the local "experts" who are going to inspect Odyssey's property and on what basis they will determine what is legal or illegal...

It is not Odysseys property, they were working a contract for a day rate.

Cyprus has a formidable archaeological base to call from, as it was a center of some Ancient Empires, ever hear of the Minoans?

The reason Cyprus is involved, there was a ship full of artefacts 'looted' by the British, and headed back to England when it burned and sank. That ship did have artefacts from Cyprus.

The question will be, who or where, do they have a permit from?

As usual, Odyssey claims it cannot disclose anything about the wreck due to confidentiality agreements, so another secret wreck. Odyssey has a reputation all right.

Look at the Mercedes, jumping TT's arrest on the SSCA, and of course, no one else would touch that burnt wreck except the cut rate parasites of the sea.

Desperate times call for desperate measures....

Looking at the AIS tracks, it is Lebanese waters...

Apparently you are not familiar with Alexandre. He considers anything he has not personally excavated as looted. Even though there were archaeologists rom 3 different countries working on the Odyssea Explorer.

Ahhh... I see.

Well... All I can say is... This is a shame.

I actually believe in "innocent until proven guilty"... as opposed to the other way around.

I highly doubt that a BILLION dollar company like Odyssey would jeopardize their reputation and standing over ANY artifacts.
It is not like "they need the money"...

Furthermore... It just does not make any rational sense.

OR...

Maybe this is a reflection of a "dishonest"finger...
In my experience... Usually...
The people to watch are usually the ones who tell everyone else to look or watch.

So... What is it ?
And why the "paranoia" ?
And over something that does not "belong" to you... Or has been designated to be protected by you ?
OR
Has it ?
Whatever it is ... .... .... ... um.... speaking of which.... Do you even know "what" these items are ?
How many items ?
Where the items come from ?

Anything yet ?

IF you cannot answer the above ...
I would not continue to go through life casting stones.
These things are not traits of a person who is / has "good" intentions or is on the "good" side of things.

Strive to find the good.
and dont just settle all opinions immediately in your mind for the worst/bad.

The world is tuff enough without making it harder.
And...
All things are possible.
