It's been almost a year since the 1715 tricentennial Royal was found; however, using new equipment, we recovered an amazing coin that has left us speechless. Very similar to the first coin recovered on 6-17-15, the coin is a very rare Royal 1 escudo minted in Mexico City in 1714. In addition 28 small silver coins have been recovered within only 1 or 2 GPS numbers of the 2015 find, and we are still finding more everyday. We have been excavating a crack in the limestone 20 ft long, for three days, and there are still hits everywhere.

This year we have also found 13 pieces of worked silver and 3 pieces of kang hsi.

This time last year we had 14 holes dug; this year we have almost 300.

Going to be a good season.

A typical early 18th century gold escudo is worth alot of money, but this is a ROYAL gold escudo - a hammered gold coin made specifically for the king of Spain himself! It is likely worth many tens of thousands of dollars, maybe even more! Also this treasure is from the Spanish Plate Fleet of 1715, the same treasure that enticed Black Beard and Black Sam Bellamy to sail down to Florida! It's the treasure that started their careers as pirates! This gold coin is what they all set out to find 300 years ago this summer. It was exactly 300 years ago in 1716 that they arrived to find the Spanish already salvaging the treasure of the wrecked treasure fleet! Because they could not salvage the treasure for themselves they became pirates!

:tchest::coins::3coins::icon_pirat:-Yar!
