I have a friend that just sent me this photo. She knows I get excited about this kind of stuff-

She has no other information on this. It's along the Texas coast, appearing at low tide.

I know there is not a lot of information to go on, any thoughts so far?

That's awesome. Try and drag it home to mount on the wall of your treasure room!

You could restore & preserve a small piece of the wood, mount a few of the ships spikes to it, give it a good coat of varnish and it would make a nice wall display.

I'm sorry to bomb your post but I need a little help.

I have looked all over this forum and can not find where you start a new post/thread. Can you help me find where to click to start one?

Thank you.

Very cool.
I remember in the 80's there was the top of a metal ship sticking out of the sand in front of the Hilton Hotel in South Padre.
It is long buried now.

Super fantastic find. I agree with the "drag it out of there" would make amazing wall hanger of coffee table if preserved and oiled back up

I have a carved sperm whale made from 150 year old barn wood. Very cool.
I'd post a pic but I don't get a "browse" button.

Another use for old hull wood

I figured it out....use the "advanced" mode. Anyway, my brother-in-law carved this whale for me over 40 years ago as a housewarming gift..

It's been hanging outside in our patio. Then last year I was reading an article about the new movie In the Heart of the Sea
and found this old picture included in the article. Coincidence??

Anyway, you could make a lot of these with a pattern and a scroll saw.

I'd love to go check that out if it's somewhere east of Port O'Connor and your friend is willing to share the info. I'd be going Fri for the 1pm low tide if anybody cares to join
