I suppose it could be useful in confined areas, but as a pinpointer, it strikes me as having too large a coil, defeating the whole idea of having a pinpointer in the first place. Personally, I just use the side of my coil to pinpoint.

Incidentally, if you (hopefully) have one of the old style Sand Sharks with removable coils, Tesoro made a 4 or 5 inch round coil for the machine. You could probably dig one up online.

Also, don't forget about the palm coil or probe options available for the Aquapulse.

I was thinking more about using it as an underwater MD? Maybe on sites where I know there are things?

Sadly my Shark is a hard wired one but I do have an 8 inch coil for my Aqua pulse

It sounds as if you are turning to the dark side and attempting to go "cloak and dagger"...8-)

It's hard to get more cloak and dagger than an Aquapulse with a palm coil...you can run the wire up your wetsuit and into your glove...the wire is invisible and the hip mounted unit blends in nicely with the rest of your gear...

I am going to be doing some MD underwater in the States on a known site and wondered if this piece of equipment has any track record with people out there?

It looks much easier to use than a regular MD but if it is testicularly challenged then I won't buy one.

Sads669, I could school you on how we used wires and a hand cranked radio generator on a testicular object, but it would'nt help you find metal. It would be painful too.

I'm Leery about an offer allowing people who swim with sharks to finance a product.
But hey ,I'm not in marketing either.

Alright, alright. I'll chime in. It's too new to tell yet. But here's a link to a discussion about it.

Not a lot of help from this forum because it is so new...

I think the gaudy orange doesn't go well with the blue in your wetsuit.

I also get confused... is it no orange after labor day or orange only after labor day?

Not sure about that. But i have heard the water proof pin pointers and such where a bit of a flop. Several issues and lots of recalls
