Description


Wreck is believed to be that of the wooden propeller Chippewa also referred to as the Chrysler Park Wreck that sank in this area in August 1920. The shipwreck is 65 feet in length and is in the middle of the shipping channel.

& was published 10-03-1907

Which would mean it was Reported found 13 years before it sank
in 1920
if the top info is correct.


Did 2 Ships with the Same name Sink in the St Lawrence ?

Also what doesn't make sense is the fishermen found it in 90 fathoms (540 feet) and the wreckfinder says it is 65 feet deep.

The article says in Chippewa there is a Chippewa bay on the St Lawrence east of Alexandria Bay. I think Chippewa is the name of the location not the vessel
