    Google Earth

I have been looking through forums to research. I have found a lot of old wreck sites and have even verified a few.

Now with this being said.....I do not wish to disclose a location or area yet I know people look at these forums and the Florida law blah, blah.

My question is has anyone used this method along with research in books and archives?

    Shipwrecks
Hello Dan. Yes, I have used Google Earth along with shipwreck research to find several shipwrecks. If you know of any around the Cedar Key area maybe we can check it out. Have boat, will travel.

Wow, that's the biggest palm leaf fossil I've ever seen! Must be about 125 million years old...

There are things you can replace. And others you cannot. The time has come to weigh those things. This space is getting hot. Whoa! This space is getting hot!

I did use it years ago and still do --google earth often has shallow offshore areas with light colored sands --the sunlight often backlights wreck site areas some which even look ship shaped and of proper size ….scanning reefs looking for odd outcroppings can also produce results as well --once found t6en its time to drag a mag and do a bit of ground truthing to age the wreck site as far as age and type of vessel...to see if it search worthy or notv
