Hello,

We are looking for a couple of certified divers who might be interested in diving the 1715 Fleet wrecks next summer. We've got a boat, equipment, a good team and some new research. Looking to add a couple of trustworthy young divers, (already living near the treasure coast a plus but not absolutely necessary). If interested please send me a PM.

Thanks

Well, the word "young" leaves me high and dry!

Same here Phillip. I was on the Conquistador when one of the crew got water in the port engine and blew it back in 2006. I rebuilt the motor. Here are a couple of pics of me in the engine room and getting ready to dive after it was rebuilt.

Proof of the incompressibility of fluids.

Made senseless by post-posting editing - "Geez, Jason...whatcha doing under the bus?"

At least it is still in one piece. I rebuilt a lot of engines and I have seen them ripped apart.

How would one go about find some one with a lease and to detect in the ruff surf 1 to 5 feet ?

I would think you would just contract with the leaseholder for the particular area of coast you are interested in. Pics of lease areas and who owns the lease from the Cape to Jensen are on the internet but not the exact latitude coordinates of these leases. I tried to get the state to give me those coordinates so that I could get in the shallow water from the beach where there is no lease but the state said it was proprietary information. Not sure I understand their position, they want you to stay out of the water where there is a lease, but won't give the exact latitude coordinates so that you know where you can and can't enter the water. So, I just do the right thing and stay out of the water. Most of the leases overlap, but there are some gaps according to the pics I did get from the state.

I just heard on the seagrape vine news that the Conquistador owned by Rob Westrick caught on fire at the riverside marina in ft pierce and is a total loss.

Confucius say... "One should always make sure the doobie is out before docking".

Not a funny matter though... hope they were insured.
