How deep is it? and what do you have in the bottom, sand or coral?

I did some research on the vessel I believe you have in mind.
You may wish to reconsider your situation after reading these entries:

Good Luck
Don.....
i already knew that and that it had flour but that doesnt meen that there arrent any artifacts and surely they must have had some spending money with them

IMAFISH,

If you carefully read what Mckaydon send you, you can see that everything in that vessel was salvage.....

On my arrival at the mouth of the Siletz I found the schooner lying on the beach –
her cargo had been taken above tide water and stacked where they supposed it would be safe and covered with the sails –

Its clean!!!!!!!Next!!!!!!

All the best,

Chagy.........

They had enough time to salvage her entire cargo...why would some one leave something valuable in it?

All the best,

Chagy......

P.S. keep us posted if you find something.....Good luck!!!

People in the old days were scavengers.just like we all are today.if a ship wrecked on the beach.they took everything and they used it for building their homes or feeding their families. sail canvas was used for bed sheets or clothing.or cut down and used for a smaller sailboat.if there was anything valuable like money or coins you can bet that it was the first thing they got.even ballast stones were used to build walls and roads.in new smyrna beach a lot of the old homes were built out of wood from shipwrecks.IMAFISH im sure there could be something that they didnt get.look further out to sea.
