What is curious, is that is your reply to the post.

No, "nice find", "congratulations on the recovery"

    or

Wow that is awesome that you all are out there saving history! What a great thing to be doing, saving artifacts by recovering them so the people of the world can learn from them, view them, touch them, enjoy them... !

When one searches the word archeologist the returns of definitions are all virtually started with, a person who studies, the study of....

The definition is not a person with a degree....

So the dude is an archeologist. As you said, "Mind you, you can be an archaeologist and not be certified as one - an the inverse is also true."

So you were just more curious of his schooling than judging his ability?

    Grats Search and Salvage!!

    Capt Kym is my hero!
Was great to swim over and have a chat with him the other day!

    Go get some more!

"The finding of a great treasure from the days of the Spanish Main is not the cherished dream of only the United States and Florida citizens; countless peoples from other lands have shared such thoughts. It would amaze and surprise most citizens of this country, when their dream, at the greatest of costs, was realized, the agents of respective governments would, on the most flimsy grounds, lay claim to the treasure."

I forgot to add: you do not have to have a degree in archaeology to be an archaeologist but you sure need to have your experience, your ethics and your practices peer approved.

Alexandre said"you sure need to have your experience, your ethics and your practices peer approved"...Peer approval...Every member of a group from a 1st Century executioner to the Nassau pirates to the Hell's Angels has operated under those same rules. The group makes the rules, but where are the checks and balances on the group's ethics, etc?

But I digress...a couple of interesting finds from the Cabin site:
The first is silver...part of a ...what?
The second is an eight reale...nice and chunky coin.

and here is a quick picture or two of our fearless leader Captain Kym Ferrell...the guy who has taught me more about boats and salvage and being a good boat captain than anyone else, pictured with the latest find for he and the crew.
Kym's hit a rough patch after 6 years of fighting cancer. He could use your prayers, good thoughts or a visit in the near future.
Thanks to him for being my friend and mentor.
Thanks to your all for your prayers.

Chatted with Capt. Kym when he motored on over to the Black Pearl last week. I think they left you in the water Bill.
    Wish you guys the best.

Also ran in to AU_Dreamers at the dock. He's bouncing back himself. Let's keep chasing the Rainbow.
