Trend of artist to research and depict the Ais in paintings. Skin color varies in paintings, from very dark to almost white European. Ais artifacts though have been studied for more accurate depictions.

from what i understand many east coast tribes paid tribute to the west coast cannibalisic tribe to keep them off their backs so there might be treasure stashed in their old tribal camps --indains often buried their loot so if tghey were attacked they just fled the camps and returned later on with only a few knowing the exact burial spot

from what i understand many east coast tribes paid tribute to the west coast cannibalisic tribe to keep them off their backs so there might be treasure stashed in their old tribal camps --indains often buried their loot so if tghey were attacked they just fled the camps and returned later on with only a few knowing the exact burial spot
? Cannibals ?... heh this is and has been an accusation.. there is no evidence of this...

Other types of stuff yes...... In the memoirs of Hernando makes no mention of such... who lived WITH the Calusa... who were the dominant tribe of Florida.

Never heard cannibalistic for here... New Zealand yes, probably a few other places also.

It's like the Turquoise Trail in New Mexico. Turquoise in the hills near ghost town Los Cerrillos was better. Indians mined it there, then traded all the way to the Aztec.
