or back than, that could have been 6000 $1.00 coins.

22 lbs sounds like allot though.

& think they may have been Valuing by 1901 Weight Value

Gold price from 1840 til 1932 was $22.67
$1 in 1901, adjusted for inflation would be $30.23 in 2020.
Gold is worth $1583 this morning.
22 lbs would be worth about $475,000. ( multiplied by 4 to 6 for historic value)
That would make a nice day's work...
