Can you narrow it down to a particular state?

Is there any description of what type of cannons they are/were?

Just checking. Got a friend who was talking about a similar wreck.

If the canon are Iron, lots to conserve and usually less value. If bronze, could be a nice haul. But you also have to deal with the State of NC! No easy task.

But if you have your "ducks in a row", they may be willing to work with you. Certainly a covert job would not be recommended or condoned.

Scuba Dude could certainly help get it started if its a worthy project. Would also need some funding, maybe an Archaeologist, a little recon survey, etc.

Where did you get your info and do you have any research to back it up?

Columbus, GA has a pile of cannons under the waters of the Chattahoochee River that were dumped by the union. I don’t think they have been recovered.

several years ago a few cannons were recovered near Hamilton,at Fort Branch. Some people I know found them and when the first one broke water, the state stepped in and finished the job.

however,if the cannons you are talking about are not the ones at Ft Branch, they would be worth recovering, electrolysis ain't that big of a problem.I might can help.
