Someone emailed me this new info a few min ago:
On June 10th of last year we found a small box that was encrusted. When we were finally able to open it here in the lab it contained over 16,000 pearls.
Well The guys from the Blue Water Rose just came in with a pick up truck full of artifacts including a massive amount of pottery; olive jar necks of all different sizes and glazed pottery, Iron rigging, spikes, weapons, and a handful of coins. Amongst all of this was another encrusted box!
This one is smaller than that of the pearls and is very heavily encrusted! There is no way to tell what is in the box until we start the conservation process but with any luck it will be a very rewarding find!
Stay tuned! and make sure your contract is up to date!

Today's the day!

Just say this in the news

KEY WEST --
(AP) -- Shipwreck salvagers have recovered a gold chalice while searching for the wreckage of a Spanish galleon off the Florida Keys.

The ornate two-handled chalice stands on a gold base and is adorned with etched scrollwork on the upper portion. It was located by Blue Water Ventures diver Michael DeMar beneath about a foot of sand in 18 feet of water approximately 30 miles west of Key West.

The late Key West treasure hunter Mel Fisher began the search for artifacts from the Santa Margarita, which sank in 1622, more than a quarter-century ago.

The chalice is slated to arrive at a Key West laboratory Wednesday morning. Experts hope cleaning it will reveal more details of a crest etched inside the bottom of the piece.

A plate typically accompanies a chalice. I hope that turns up soon. That's what happened in two separate hunts on Corrigan's.
