Need help with info on very old porter blanchard flatwear set

This was left for my mom from her great grandmother. She didn't think much of it until we found a hand written letter telling the story of the set and how they got it. In the note she states that they got it appraised 50 years before the time of writing note and she died almost 40 years ago so it would be almost 100 years ago from today. It was appraised for 1000 dollars almost 80 years ago. I have attached pics of the makers mark it looks like pbosa but I'm not sure. Any info would be so awesome aswell as how vaulable it could be. Thanks guys

Porter Blanchard is a heavily collected 20th century artisan California silversmith. Made quite a bit of silver for Hollywood elite. Should be worth a considerable amount just for the Porter Blanchard name (although the pattern is a somewhat pedestrian copy of an early 19th century shell.

awesome info thank you. And just so I understand what's a pedestrian copy ha. And how would I go about getting it priced. I really appreciate the help.
