I use plastic out in the field, this was my show of at home vial. Luckly I was able to use a squirt bottle and move it to a spot of chipped concrete and uce my snuffer to retrieve what I did. The rest went down a crack in the slab.

A dental pick or your wifes favorite kitchen knife and lots of time and patience should recover a little more of that hard earned yellow. Did you happen to
see the story about the "urban prospector" who scraped the sidewalk cracks in NYC outside of jewellery shops?

...or just get a chisel and sledge hammer out...you don't really like that patio anyway do you? LOL!

Seriously you could try flooding it out or soaking and sucking with a turkey badger or similar :-)

My very first time out with my brand new build I found these Pliers and the gold you can see at the end of the video. I built and designed the highbanker from the Idea of creating a sluice box to throw in streams while camping... This has turned into a whole different thing now... HAHA

My total take after three hours with my modified sluice. The fluid bed caught very little gold but tons of black sand

Haven't dried it yet, got a butt load more fines to pan out first. My guess *wink* is 1.5 grams. It was upstream from the bridge at mineral bar. I watch my kids everyday, buy if you give me enough notice I would be more than happy to take you to the spot. I don't get jealous... just happy to have some one to talk to and help move overburden

Put those kids to work classifying material for you! Keeps them occupied, burns off excess energy, and puts gold in your vial!

U can even get them a little Angus MacKirk backpacker sluice to use themselves! My 7 yr old granddaughter loves using that and even has a few flakes of her own now despite her A.D.D.!!

My wife and I agreed the kids need to know how to swim before I take them to the river, so that's the goal for this summer. Already got a little shovel, bucket, classifier, and pan for my son

Good plan. And don't forget life jackets! Once they get into it, you will have no trouble getting them to go to sleep! They'll be wiped out! But they'll have also learned lessons in physics, history, etc plus a valuable hobby that'll last them a lifetime, or at least till the enviro-terrorists shut it down completely! Then they'll learn valuable lessons in civics and politics too!

I think if some of these youth groups took troubled inner city kids out on back breaking prospecting trips, these kids might forget about gangs and dependency on social programs. They would learn about nature, clean air, and how hard work can sustain a person!
