Hi Sergey,
I haven't heard of any good places to pan. I live in Putnam county near Danbury,CT. Your going to need to find some rivers that are conducive to our type of gold we have in NY which is glacial. Mountains feeding into streams. Not sure there is any geography like that on LI. Just ferry across to New London CT and you can find a ton of rivers and streams to pan. Prospecting laws are much looser in CT than in NY. The technically any gold you find in NY state belongs to the state regardless of where you find it. Good luck!

Actually, Long Island itself is a glacial terminal moraine so it's a good bet there is gold! Look for creeks running with enough force to move the gravel around and you should find gold!!!! Do some google searchin' for more info this winter then get out there!

You would have to find the ancient river beds that have dissapeared thousands of years ago. Too crowded here on Long Island. Obviously there has to be gold here but buried from multiple glacial dumps. Un-reachable
