Are you using plexiglass or Lexan? I have been told plexiglass scratches pretty easily, so after a few times the in creek, it might start to get hard to see into. (Please let us know if you have any problems with scrathes). Having said that, I do like the idea of being able to see into the trap. I cannot see into my 48" Prospector. I have thought about putting my LeTrap in the stream after it, with a grizzly screen sitting on top of the LeTrap so the larger stuff leaving the top of the Prospector does not end up in the LeTrap.

Everyone assures me that it is catching all the fine gold; it does catch fine gold--it is the ALL I am worried about. Often, that is all we find here in Colorado. :)

plexiglass is brittle and as GPD said it scratchs and if cold it will break easily! while Lexan is more durable/plyable but more costly, I would use the Lexan rather than the plexi!!!!

Gday Goodyguy The creek that i used to go to has lots of black sand as well and good gold but have not been there for years the black sand was a pain in the bum so just wondering how the gate trap prototype worked out? Just started making a fluid bed gold sluice like yours hope it turns out as good as yours you are a very clever man.

Tried it out once but there was not enough flow from the creek for it to work and now I'm out west on a desert prospecting trip. Probably wont get to try it again until Spring.

Thanks for the interest, and the compliment.
GG~

So i took the bazooka and hard test it , shovel as fast i could keep digging in very rich area with huge amount of water flow .
I found out it needs higher sides , to channel the water more , probably 2-3 inch high .
Bud it still cough alot of gold :)
