The bgt carries alot of the pebbles and shale rock, and somehow allowing the black sands to pass through. Like i said , i just need a bgt owner to show me up one time. :) I want this to work!
sounds like too ouch pressure in the fluidizing tubes to me. But to hays coming from someone who doesn't even own a BGT.

Gp make sure the tubes are not plugged.Or there nothing blocking the flow to the tubes. The bgt is very much good to go as long as you have a good flow of water. Only problem ive had is waterflow. You may lose some black sand. You will in all sluices. Only the heavy stuff stays in the box. And i always get some dirt in the box. Before I start shoveling the good stuff.

I've never had a problem with loosing gold out of my 30" miner. Except when my tubes got clogged with organics.

I have tested my tailings probably ten times and never a spec of gold and i have worked in many different water conditions everytime along side my buddys a-52 he also isnt losing any but i get alot more than him its hard to believe your losing gold i would say the same that your fluid tubes are clogged or something or maybe to many heavys and need to clean out?

clean the tubes you good to go afterward that simple...........I usually take a garden hose run it in jet mode blow through the tubes and make sure water is coming through the holes as it should also while your running take your finger check your trap if its on the solid like feel clean it out if it still feels soft like keep running until you get solidity feel, if your getting that and still running then chances are its going to blow by...........that's my experience anyways

The tubes are cleared...the trap fills with pebbles and sand/material wiin the first bucket, and is compacted

now there is one other trick you can try is wire tie a piece wire cloth I forget the size exactly now but it would reduce the the rock problem and the finer heavys would go in I believe AUFisher has a vid on this

The trap is supposed to fill instantly that is what traps the gold until it sinks sounds like to me you need a little faster water flow on the bottom. I think there is some exceptions on cleanout rate with certain materials

A little more slope (build a dam if needed to get slope) will help when water flow is slow. Increase slope/drop until the bed is loose/fluidized but still full. Skip the hardware cloth unless in an area with a lot of flat rocks that are filling the bed. It's supposed to immediately fill up with pebbles tho.

you won't,feel movement, just that you'll be easily able to push your finger thru the material

TGP try this:
Next time you are out, load up your fluid bed until you think its not fluid. Then lift the sluice out and set it level on the bank. Now feel it. Should be much harder to finger. (Like a uhhhh... yeah I better leave that one alone LOL)

Best,

I was told before that the 30" prospector can take bucket after bucket without a clean out...i feel that isnt the case- for mine at least.

Again..i need to meet up with a bgt Pro :)

I think 5 minutes with an experienced Bazooka owner will solve everything for you. There are a number of prospectors in your part of the world, get to a meet up and the veil of mystery will be lifted!

I have attempted setting up Many meetups - one day soon :)

I have worked with many of sluiceboxes, this shouldnt be too different..esp after meeting with chris and todd...i thought i had it in the bag-not yet. ;)
