Well , I was hoping to get out on the beach a little today..... I did and as long as I leaned into the wind at about a 40 degree angle it wasn't too bad..... Needless to say no digging today.

It was a great day to get your ankles sandblasted......:laughing7:

Well I gotta tell ya it has definitely removed a lot of the drifts.
Remember these.

If things settle down tomorrow I may try and get out there for a bit.

OK.... It turned out to be a beautiful day so I got out a little.
Not real rich looking black sand patches but once put into the sluice there was a good show.
Don't know the results yet as I have not done the cleanup yet.....
I have got to get a cleanup station setup in the garage so I don't have to keep dragging crap around.

The tide was on the flood so I shoveled till I got chased out.........
This one was it..... I had gotten out of the creek about 5 minutes before this one came in and inundated my spot....:laughing7:

My better half thought my timing was pretty good as she had been warning me ....... :laughing7:

Anyway, I will get the days run cleaned up in a few days and see if it was worth the effort or if it was just a great day to be out for a little bit.

On a side note.......
I added a second slick plate to the sluice so 4 feet of slick and 2 feet of sluice..... 6 feet overall.
It definitely made a difference in how the sand dispersed and flowed.... Much better .....
So if there is some AU in all that sand it really had a chance to stratify and settle in.

See they are .. all of them within 1 1/2 hours from home.

Well it looks like we may be able to get out this weekend and will be going up to an area called Beverly beach.
It has some history and is some very unstable ground.... Just look at the embankment along the hi way.......

B beach erosion.png

And if that ain't enough, take a look at this old section of old hi way.....

Beverly has some great camping spots, a few with an ocean view under the bridge. You really won't want to leave :hello:

Hows everything going Reed? Are you guys still traveling? take it easy and have some fun....:laughing7:

We're just making a day trip of it.
Beverly beach is only a little over an hour away from me.

Things are starting to calm back down and the beach is getting back to what it used to be like. Still a little way to go but at a point we can start working it again.
So, I got out a little today.........
I haven't done the clean up yet so I don't know what I got today but I will get to it in a few days.
Also I am going up to Beverly beach tomorrow and see what I can find there.

I would love to run a lot of that material across my Gold Cube!!
The cube would do a heck of a job on it.... BUT.... In Oregon we can't use any power on the beach, nothing but hand tools and ground sluicing.... A truly inane rule, but it still beats commiefornia.......At least we can get out on the beach.

You can't take your dog on any state beach in Californika now because of the endangered snowy plover. They say that dogs aren't natural on the beach and frighten them. I definitely saw a lot of the little snowy plovers and I really don't see them as being endangered. It's just another way for commiefornia to rule their people and make sure that they will commieform to no freedom there. It's definitely a screwed up state politically.

OK... just got home and it was a fantastic day on the beach.....
Don't know the results yet as I am too tired to do the cleanup tonight so I will get to it tomorrow.
But here are some beach shots.

He's feeding one of the Braun beach sluices.........

What is your opinion on the Braun beach sluice?
It appears to be a pretty good sluice but I don't think it will run nearly as much material as my cleangold beach sluice.
Doug will send me some pics of his cleanup tomorrow I suppose and we will see how things stack up agains my recovery.....
Of course it is hard to compare because we were working in different areas of the beach, not taking material from the same spot so that could certainly be an influence as well.

Good thing I am only doing this for the exercise...:laughing7:
The old knees just won't allow much more than messing around at the beach anymore...:blackbeard:

Most people who go outside for some exercise only come home with sweaty clothes, you come home with gold!
