uploadfromtaptalk1450838782640.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1450838822646.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1450838882555.jpg well its the pointy end of 2015 and my lovely wife granted leave to hit the bush. so I hit my usual spot (late start 0930) got the zook setup in record time and started processing from the leading edge of a gravel bank that formed behind a bankside bedrock outcrop. ran 6 X 5gal 1/2" classified buckets before my first clean-out (test panned bottom of buckets 2,4,6 ) as i had zero colours in bucket 6 did clean-out and moved digging ops downstream +20' on some bedrock riffles at end of gravel bank. that turned out to be a wasted 2hrs so went back to previous hole. all in all the outing ended being the best so far...havent panned cons but thought i'd show my little bit o' gold porn...these showed up whilst panning/concentrating zook clean-out 1 and 3 ... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and may your pans be loaded with shine....dave

definately gonna keep hitting that creek...not sure if you can see in pics but, the upper right hand piece is quite angular...i dont think its been in the water as long as the others and there is still about five kilometers of creek to explore upstream before i start heading downstream into the mineralised section. After researching the area i decided to go up as its nearer the old mines

They all look rough like you said, they're not smooth at all. I would start at the mine area and then head down stream. looks like you're in the middle.

There is seven mines on this range all dating from the 1850's and were last worked about 1890. three of them watershed to the other side of range, 3 are are upstream of me ( 2 of them within 25 metres of creek bed as per map) and 1 downstream. Its going to take some time to bash thru the scrub up to find the mines as its impossible to see thru so im making my way up via the bank / water that way i dont leave too permanent a trail cause i dont want to attract any attention to 'my spot'. next year i will hit it hopefully weekly and get rich...lol ...
