Used a big rig mud flap gonna put expanded metal on top of it. Gonna be a recycling unit to use in the shop.

Not bad! It being scrap wood, you might want to treat/seal the wood and cracks with some sort of sealer/urathane so it doesnt warp out too fast. And im assuming those mats are test fitted and will be taped or glued? Looks pretty good. Nice at home clean up sluice. I keep toying with the idea of making a trough, container, material feeder so i can set in a bunch of say minus 20 material and walk away for a bit while it slowly runs. Just something to possibly add/drive you crazy as you tinker ;)

Remember , fine gold WILL slip into the tightest of cracks / joints in your sluice and you just wont believe what WILL come out after a complete cleanup!

Get some pond liner and glue the lower section mats to it so there's no gaps between the liner and mat. Let the pond liner extend past the sides of the mat so that it holds all the water and still is a good inch or more above it. That will cut down on escapes and make cleanout easier and also protect the wood.

Here's what I'm talking about.

Gonna silicone the seams and coat the inside with spray in bed liner/undercoating. Gonna bolt the expanded metal on top of the mud flaps. Got a big ole trash pump and some pvc today. Gotta go buy some 90's. Everything else has been free.

And one day .. when it is past it usable life... let it dry burn it to ash in a drum and pan out the ash... you may be surprised.

Same applied to old dredge matting....

Worked pretty good. Need to add another spray bar in the sluice. It's not moving the material down the sluice that well. You gotta go in there with your hand and move it manually.

Check the pump for blow back. Just put your hand under it in the water while running and if you feel water squirting back out the pump intake, then you need to either add more holes or make some of them bigger until it balances out. You may want a little blow back for pressure but it's best to keep the pump running at full capacity.
