I know what it's gonna be, lol

It ain't exactly just rubber, almost like rubberized felt or something. Doesnt look like conveyor, maybe some form of intustrial rug?

Maybe 1/2" thick, with 3/8" grooves. I got two pieces 18"x72" for 12 bucks at a resale shop. Seemed like a fun thing to try making a 12 foot sluice from, and a good way to empty some beer cans.

If it gets fuzzy it will probably be hard to clean but the profile is right for fine gold capture.

I could believe it's for horses.. came fron that kind of area. It actually makes a nice door mat too. There was a tarish booger stuck to it, so I had to slice a chunk off, the short piece seems to work good for that.

Once I got it scrubbed up and clean, it doesn't really look like felt anymore, more like compressed rubber bits. It isn't really fuzzy or pourus, and I wouldn't expect much difficulty rinsing it out.

Think it could be okay for a section of a long beach sluice? Worth a try?

Tryin to decide between this, and a big piece of vortex mat for a second stage after my LeTrap.

Kind of wanted the vortex since it should limit the lateral movement in the riffles, and I wont have to be concerned with losing material off the sides and sealing to avoid it.

I would think they would like different angles too, and I only wanted two stages right now.

So many possibilities, lol.
