New to prospecting (Greenville)

Moved to the area this summer and recently bought some pans and a keene mini sluice box. Would like to join a group or get recommendations on places I'm allowed to prospect. I shot an email to the local GPAA chapter but unfortunately they disbanded five years ago. I live up near Table Rock and right now my best option seems to be driving to a national forest or private land.
