    Help with this coin?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on what type of coin this is? Where it is from? How old? Anything?

    Thanks in advance.

It is a reale, Spanish coin. Look up real or reale in google. Check out the pictures and see if you can match yours. The shape is odd as it appears to have multiple edges. However reales can be any shape as they were often cut or clipped.

It's a 1739, denomination '8' coin that resembles an 8 escudos gold cob coin from Lima, Peru, issued during the reign of Philip V. The style is called 'pillars and waves".

    Hmm,

Welcome to the t-net...and your not "just a girl"
Since your asking...try this link it may better explain your item. http://www.sedwickcoins.com/fake_cobs.htm
I am not calling it a f*ke or co*y...it's just not very genuine looking to me and I will leave it at that.
But it does "resemble" real looking reales. 1736 not 9

I'll help you find a real one? if your down this way

I agree; I just wanted to tread lightly with the word 'resembles'. Actually, I don't recall seeing that image on other than gold coins.

    Welcome to TN justagirl.

Your coin is a modern pot metal replica, same as this Destin Beach find by another member.http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.p...c,47308.0.html

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
