    My cob

found in a farm field that was the site of a colonial fort
this place has been hammered over the years with many old coins and relics found
the farmer did a deep turn over and this was one of the coins I got before he planted
I had found a few flattened pieces of lead and this was gray, miss shapened and caked and thought i had another piece of lead - I wiped it with my thumb and got ready to drop in my pouch when I saw cross on it - could not belive I had a cob

Casper, Welcome to Treasure Net !!
Yours looks like a 1685 Carlos II 1/2 real .931 fine silver; from Mexico City.
    Great find.

Yes, a cob half real, in fairly reasonable condition. However, note the date location under the monogram... That means it's Potosi or Lima, and from the style of the lions (and castles), it's definitely Potosi. Good find.
