    Somebody Help Me!

We don't really know much about coins, so if anyone could help that would be wonderful.

We found this lovely piece on a beach. (We assume it is a coin)
It is very corroded and we can't identify any patterns or words.
We think it was gold plated, but we havn't a clue what the bright metallic orange/peach colour is.

It is exactly an inch in diameter and it does not stick to a magnet.

This is probably a stupid question, but can anybody tell me what this is made out of!!!?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

    well........
can you give a scale to compare the size with? put it next to a dime or penny etc...
can you photo other side and post...larger file size would help.
can you give the weight in grams...or close to it?
close-up shots and large file is the best way to go...for now.

    thx,

I am sorry these are so late!
Here are a couple more pictures. The copper coloured material is very sparkly. Even more so than the gold. I would love to know what it is!
These pictures are taken with a dime beside.

    Re: Somebody Help Me!

Welcome to the forum Jane. I have many cookie coins that look like that from the beach. Salt water will eat up copper and silver. Gold would not corrode like that. The first thing I would do is soak it in distilled water for a couple months to remove the salts and use a toothbrush. Some detail may show up.

Here are some cookie coins from the beach. The left one is an American silver quarter.

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
