I have 8 or 9 cobs that we've found over the years, and identifying them is next to impossible for a novice. Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction? Some silver, some bronze.
This one 20.8 grams and is 32mm x 34mm x 3mm at the thickest part

This one weigh 7.1 grams and is 24mm x 25mm x 2mm thick

This one weighs 3.1 grams is 23mm x 25mm x 1mm thick

JonG,

Hello, I don't get to this site much anymore but here is a source that will help you in your ID's of these and hopefully others you may come across.
It is a great web-site, I consider one of the best for identification.
This should get you going. españa
When you get to the site and lets say click on Felipe IV just for sake, it will open and you will see many types of coins...each line will have a highlighted word in blue "aqui" click on the aqui and it will open up many many more examples...you will see yours soon.

Let me know if you need more...I know what you have pictured but I will let you research and learn.
Thanks for posting,
Scott

Second coin may have once looked like this:
8%20Maravedis%201623%20Segovia.jpg

In 1641 and 1642 these coins were reaffirmed as to their value with the overstamp you see.
I may be wrong, but that's my current thinking.

The bottom coin appears to be a 4 maravedis (due to its weight and diameter) minted during the years 1621 to 1626.
Further research might disclose if the "C" designates the mint city as being either Coruna or Cuenca.
The composition of both coins two and three is copper.

Don,
Apparently there is no C that represents Coruna in that century or the centuries that follow.
C does represent Zaragoza though, isnt that strange, lol

Scott
Cuenca is correct.
