I found this today. I contacted a pal and he had trouble ID-ing in his books. It almost looks like it has a fish on it.... charles II.jpg Hello Steve,

It's Mexico mint and Charles II. Date range for Chuckie II is 1665 - 1700.
The give away for Charles II is the single upside down arch by the crown which you can see clearly.
Nice piece, now go find some more. :hello2:

Thanks for post,
Trez

Thanks guys. Is there a way to narrow the date with the details visible?

Geez your tough...must be a Jersey thing...yo Vinnie whats da year baby !!!

isn't 4 decades close enough? You can sometimes narrow date...but it takes time to study the elements visible and then reference them and blah blah blah.
I can provide such for...lets say....hmmm....the next 2 reales you find? or unopened bottle of Rum...my choice.
Just kidding, it does take effort especially when not much is visible...Realeswatcher if he was around is a master at such.
Trust me, you found a nice Charles II Mexico Mint reales...between 1665-1700.

Trez, what has happened to Realeswatcher? Haven't seen him post on any of the forums (not just TNet) in a while. Whenever he posted, it was best to pull up a chair because school was in session. Amazing wealth of knowledge.

Oh man, I knew moving to Jersey that I would be put in that group! I'm an Eastern Long Islander for 25 years so I sound more like, "hey der bub, what's the year on dat der coin? Now let's go clammin' and drink a Budweiser der guy" lol.

Thanks for the input bud

Steve
