Im no expert but Id say late 1600's and Mexico mint. Nice find

Thanks for your input. The main reason I posted was because the obverse has two opposite curvatures meeting in the center of the cob. Looked at all the possible pics of obverse cobs and can not find that piece of the puzzle on any specimens viewed. Thanks for any input Treasurenet.

IMO, it's part of the crown on coins of Carlos III and others of that day;like this:

I couldn't find a picture of that particular crown on a cob. That would be the piece that fits. Thanks Don.

IMO,
How about Philip IV. (seems like that bow curve keeps showing up)

I have read that the 1/2 cobs were added under Philip the lV (1621-1665). Don I realized you just shot me the pic. I don't see many examples of these type cobs online, I wonder why. Thank you all for your time, and help. Art

The 1/2 real (medio) have been around since Carlos-Juana days...early 1500s
