    Is this some type of a Spanish Cob?

    I am trying to find out what this coin is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    The lettering looks like it might be in Greek. If that's what it is, there is probably a date in there somewhere.

    Thanks for looking. The reason I thought it may be some type of cob was a coin listed on New World Treasure under Colonial Cob Coins. The coin there is silver but design is very close. (It is listed under other Cob coins.) Thanks for the help guys, I'll try looking under Greek coins.

    It appears to be a crude, base-metal copy of a Spanish silver 8 reales from the reign of Ferdinand & Isabella, c. 1479-1504.

    Steve,it was in a group of coins that was passed down to me from my mother. Thanks again everyone for the help.
