I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard TheOrientTreasures! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (if necessary)...

Welcome to Treasurenet !!
The shapes are 'normal' when considering the production method of these coins (cut from a hand-formed bar of silver then cut again with shears to the 'standard' weight; ergo, each coin is 'different' in appearance.
Can you provide a back story on these coins? Were they found on land or a shipwreck site? When were they found? What is the asking price? (If you seek feedback from this Forum on their value). Have you ID each coin to the extent the details are legible? Etc.
Rarely do we see so many cobs being offered at the same time; I look forward to reading your response.

The majority if not all are minted in Mexico City. I didn't blow up each picture and analyze each one, but as quick scan. There is nothing that leads me to believe that they are fake. Nothing special jumps out with respect to significant strikes/shapes. Interested in knowing the provenance. They look like land finds.

Hi Don,

They were found south part of Jordan, region of Aqaba. They were found under ground buried with a lot of European coins. Very often, I buy from there Spanish coins but this time the shapes are a little bit different so I didn’t close the deal on them. After your response, I am confident they are good (not fake). The seller asking $150 for each one but his price is negotiable when it come to buy them as a lot.The weight ranges from 26 - 27 grams

Thank you for your information

For that many, the price is too high. That is full retail price. Check out 8 reale cob on Ebay under the completed listings and you'll see nice ones in the same price range.

$150 is the retail of non-descript common Mexico City 8 reales. If you take a closer look, and see Assayer marks, denomination, date (partial), then they might fetch a higher price to a collector. These aren't even that desirable for jewelry makers. Long elongated cobs are not easy to mount and look "clunky" hanging on a chain around the neck. Now, they might be of interest to someone who makes mounted bracelets, but the market is small for those desiring this type of jewelry.

If you were to buy the lot with the goal of resale, you should be targeting the $80/piece. Good luck on the purchase. By the way, I find it interesting that a large cache of Mexico City cobs were found in Jordan.

I agree with Diver Down's comments.
Reading that you saw the coins in Aqaba reminds me of the great 1962 film, Lawrence of Arabia, wherein Lawrence took the city of Aqaba by land in 1917, not by sea.
