I have not done metal detecting since 1995 but at that time I had a Fisher underwater metal detector.

If I remember correctly, Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates did an episode down there. I remember he and another diver looking at a wreck much the same as this one. It had a bunch of chests on it and none where open so they were not aware of the contents. They had taken one to a hospital (?) to have it x-rayed but there was so much on the crate the x-ray could not penetrate. I don't believe they had an I.D. on the shipwreck at that time. They were looking for Morgan's ship.

Simon1, thank you! Not chests but boxes, hospital X-ray machines do not have enough power to examine those boxes, too much radiation that could accidentally radiate a patient so they are set up so the power can not be increased to tackle concretions.
