Hey guys, looking for a bit of information on this cob. Any help on date range and mint is greatly appreciated. 20190316_150753.jpg 20190316_150715.jpg

This cob was issued by the Kingdom of Spain under the Hapsburgs. Most of the cob coins with the charge of Portugal on the obverse die were issued in Spain by Seville. It looks a lot like a Seville mint cob from assayer R (1620-1655) or B. It could range anywhere from 1620's through to 1680. The flatness of the bendets, the high position of the lions, and the plain castle type seems to indicate it was later in production. The denomination mark "II" is vertically placed, with a small I used for the second I mark, and this I have observed on some 4 reals. The position and design of the fleur de leis on the shield is also a way to narrow it down.
