    Is this a cob

Found this piece at the beach after big storms. Weighs 9g and rings in silver range on my detector. There seems to be letters along the left side (photo 1) going up/down. The length is 35mm and 29mm across the widest part.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Does it stick to a magnet?
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

    Bigcypresshunter,

No, it doesn't stick to a magnet. It feels heavy too and solid.

The only thing I could think of Moe would be to test the metal to see if its silver.

    Re: Is this a cob

Could this be an older cob or just more worn down? It feels heavy (9g) for its size & shape. It rings as silver on my target id detector. I can see somekind of writing on one side. I am puzzled!
