    Reale help

I found this years ago off of an old crossing of the Arkansas River near Dodge City. It is very worn so identification maybe impossible. I'm trying to get an idea of what this is and possible dates. It's a little bigger than a quarter.

The closest thing larger than a quarter (24mm) is the 2 reales at 28mm. Carlos III and IV had this design (Mexican)

    Re: Reale help

Obverse would show an armored, laureated bust of Carlos III or "IIII" (not IV). CARLOS III (or IIII) DEI GRATIA (YEAR).

Reverse, a crowned coat of arms of Spain consisting of a quartered shield with castles and lions in the quarters. In the small center shield are three fleurs-de-lis. At the bottom of the shield is a pomegranate. Inscription around the two columns would read PLUS VLTRA HISPAN ET IND REX (maybe then M small 'o' for Mexico City) 2 R (reales).
    Just guessing.
    Don.......
