    Spanish cob 16??- 4 reale? NEW PICS

    I didn't realize there was a Spanish Cob section before I posted in the "what is it" so here is the link to a cob that a friend found that needs some ID.

    The style of the cross is Mexican; from 1572 on.
    Mexican 'shield' type undated coins were minted between about 1572 to 1607. If dated (1607-1733), the date would appear to the left of the shield.

    Hola,

    Nice little cob...Don the cross is Mexico, correct. I believe date of the cob pictured - falls in the 1620s to 1650 range by the style of Shield, look at position/style of Granada and count the number of vertical lines in Aragon.
    I'm leaning very early philip IV, Early 1620s.

    Again, this is only my opinion from my lack of any real knowledge on the subject and don't ask if I think it's real either

    I see someone close-by just waiting to fire away, lol.
