Info on 16th century Spanish relics

Hi All

I'm involved in a project in the southwest. I'm looking for any reference sites with pictures of genuine early american spanish artifacts. Primarily 16th century non coin relics. Items like tools, tack, glass, or other daily use items. I apoligize for bieng of topic but I cannot seem to locate such info ?? Thanks

John... there is a 2 volume series called "Artifacts of the Spanish Colonies" written by Kathy Deegan and they are exceptional resources with many photos covering almost every type of artifact you may find on a historic site. I know that volume one is out of print and I am not sure if volume two is still available but I would recommend you try amazon.com if you are interested in purchasing these books... I was able to get both volumes from amazon. com myself.

I know you probably can't mention where you are working, but can you mention what type of site you are working on? Old fort or mission? Can you share any photos of finds with us? Love to see the new finds!! Also, if you have any artifacts that you need help with id'ing, post some photos in this thread and maybe either myself or some of the other TNET folks can help you out.

Thanks. Kathey Deegan has seen our finds. I didn't know she wrote books ?? I guess she's kinda the authority on this stuff. She's a long way from the SW. I'll see if I can find her books. Thanks Again . John B.
